About
Maddy is an Internal Family Systems (IFS) practitioner, Art Therapist, and Yoga teacher based in Hobart, Tasmania.
Over the past 25 years Maddy has consistently pursued two threads of interest - holistic health and creative arts. Both of which have become more embedded with each other as her career progresses. Maddy’s skills as a therapist, yoga teacher and artist no longer exist separately, but instead are intrinsically integrated.
Maddy's approach to therapy is a holistic perspective that encompasses an inclusive and affirming understanding of our individual traits. She believes that good therapy has the potential to offer genuine ease in showing up in this complex human life. Her methods are non-pathologizing and client-centred, providing her clients with a new and hope-filled lens to understand their own inner system.
With a heart full of compassion and ears attuned to deep listening, Maddy is a high calibre therapist specialising in Internal Family Systems. Maddy strives to offer a holistic perspective that encompasses the emotional, physical, spiritual and creative aspects of each individual. She facilitates a sense of 'home-coming' to her clients, in service of accessing their intuitive strengths.
Maddy’s sense of care and kindness is attributed to her deep commitment to Zen Buddhism. Buddhism is a cornerstone to her life and unquestionably plays a role in the quality of her work. 'The practice and study of Zen has infiltrated the fabric of my being, serving myself, my students and my clients'.
Maddy is Level 2 trained in IFS, holds a Masters in Therapeutic Arts Practice through Melbourne Institute of Experiential and Creative Arts Therapy (MIECAT) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts through University of Tasmania. Maddy is professionally registered through ANZACATA.
